It is easier to control the depth of immersion when entering a vertical cold plunge. This allows you to gradually acclimate to the cold by submerging your body slowly, starting with your feet and working up.
Laying down causes your diaphragm to work against gravity, which can make deep breathing more difficult. Sitting upright facilitates better breathing which is crucial for relaxation and acclimatization.

When I received my Cold Life after setting it up the chiller did not work, called support and they made it right. Mailed me anther Chiller in a day or two and that one works as it should. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend Cold life.
Bought a Redwood outdoor chiller 2 years ago. I love the tub but the chiller has been sent back for service 4 times in 24 months. After much research I purchased the Pro Curve chiller. I had to buy some adapters to integrate the new hoses with the RO tub. The chiller is simple, quiet , and holds the temperature at 48 even though the garage is 90 degrees. Extremely satisfied. BTW they answered the phone and quick shipped it me in one week because I was whining about having no plunge which I use daily as an old Jiu Jutsu athlete!
