It is easier to control the depth of immersion when entering a vertical cold plunge. This allows you to gradually acclimate to the cold by submerging your body slowly, starting with your feet and working up.
Diaphragmatic Breathing
Laying down causes your diaphragm to work against gravity, which can make deep breathing more difficult. Sitting upright facilitates better breathing which is crucial for relaxation and acclimatization.
Improved Circulation
The upright position promotes better circulation of blood and fluids throughout the body. In a horizontal position, blood flow can be more restricted in certain areas, making it harder for your body to adapt to the cold and maintain a stable internal temperature.

Ive been on the hunt to find the right cold plunge for my balcony for months. After doing some research I was stuck between this company and another one called Nordic but a friend of mine ended up buying there's because it was a little cheaper and it ended up breaking on him within 60 days. I have officially had my Cold Life tub for 3 months now and have to say I am thrilled how nice this thing is and zero issues. I just upgraded to there new steps also and couldn't be happier. This companies customer service is top notch and the founders are clearly extremely involved as I was surprised with one of them calling me to check in on how my experience was and that is why I am going out of my way to write this long review which I never do. Save future headaches and spend the extra money if you are looking for a cold plunge thats going to last and a be apart of a company that is doing the right thing.

I can confidently say the Ultimate Plunge is hands-down the best cold plunge on the market. I absolutely love it. The vertical design is not only space-saving—perfect for my balcony—but it also adds a modern, elevated look that makes it truly standout from other cold plunges out there.
One of my favorite features is the customization. I added the interior decking and upgraded steps, and it completely transformed the setup. It looks sleek, feels high-end, and makes getting in and out super smooth. Every detail is clearly designed with care and functionality in mind. Not to mention, it's manufactured in the US so the quality and craftsmanship is unmatched.
Set-up was a breeze, and the customer service is top-tier—responsive, helpful, and genuinely invested in making sure I had the best experience possible. Now all my friends come over just to use it, and I’ve made it part of my daily recovery routine. It’s that good!
If you’re even slightly considering a plunge, this is the one to get. It’s changed the game for me and ’ll definitely be using it every day.
